Active Ingredients: Benzydamine hydrochloride 1.5mg, pholcodine 5.5mg, cetylpyridinium chloride 1.33mg.

Approved Indications: Relief of painful inflammatory conditions of the mouth and throat, including pharyngitis, aphthous ulcers, radiotherapy-induced mucositis, post-orosurgical and periodontal procedures. Unproductive, irritating coughs associated with colds, sinusitis, influenza and infections of the upper respiratory tract. Suppression of unproductive cough.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to any ingredient.

Precautions: Do not chew. Contains isomalt, excess consumption may have a laxative effect. Consider anti-bacterial treatment if bacterial infection present. Pregnancy, lactation.

Adverse Effects: Oral numbness, occasional burning or stinging. Less commonly dryness or thirst, tingling, warm feeling in the mouth and altered taste. Systemic effects are uncommon but include nausea, vomiting, gastrointestinal disorders, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, hypersensitivity reactions. Pholcodine may cause drowsiness.

Directions: Adults: suck 2 lozenges one at a time, three hourly as required, maximum 12 per day; children 6-12 years: suck 1 lozenge three hourly as required, maximum 8 per day. Uninterrrupted Difflam treatment should not exceed 7 days without medical supervision. Not for children under 6 years.
